Three other schools took part after the rest failed to turn up for the league matches.

Matabeleland Rugby Football Board senior development officer George Mukorera said some of the schools did not turn up while Nkulumane had a breakdown and the coach for Eveline and Montrose was not available.

In the first match Amhlophe beat St Bernard’s 5-0 and went on to defeat Northlea 10-5 before dismissing Sobukhazi 30-0. Northlea who lost one match in the league beat Sobukhazi 5-0 and St Bernard’s 35-0.

Sobukhazi won one match beating St Bernard’s 12-0 who failed to score a point in all games played.

Mukorera said the games will continue next Wednesday. He said the boys’ teams did not play as they had their matches last Friday at Hartsfield.

Girls’ teams that did not turn up for the league were Mzilikazi, Hamilton and Sikhulile.
