Ishmael Dzimbanhete Munyanyiwa, an officer stationed at the Maboleni Police Base, denied a theft charge when he appeared in court and was remanded to July 30 for trial on free bail.

Allegations against Munyanyiwa were that on May 6, he was handed some property and $20 in cash.

Munyanyiwa also allegedly converted another $20 to his own use when he was on duty on June 15.

An audit conducted by a Superintendent Takawaira on June 20 revealed that some money was missing from the cash register.

An inquiry was carried out and it was discovered that Munyanyiwa had not surrendered $40. He was asked to replace the missing money, which he did on June 24.
