Breaking the cycle of poverty

POVERTY limits us and retards societal progression.

POVERTY limits us and retards societal progression.

I am a strong believer in idea that wealth can be created and it has never been meant for the select few even though current wealth levels say so.

In true sense, poverty goes with specific belief systems and so are riches. Let’s explore and explain concepts to reconfigure your thought line for wealth.

Do away with a toy mentality The toys that we used as children are the same toys that we seemingly admire and adhere to into adulthood.

Toys for adults guzzle more than the one that we are used to. These include expensive cars and a flashy life.

Do away with a toy-mentality!

Adopt the “seed time and harvest” mentality The Bible points that “While the earth continues to exist, planting time and harvest . . . will not cease.”

(Genesis 8:22). The sawing and reaping principle has been talked of time and again and has almost turned into a cliché. The principle works and causes people to be wealthy. Most people are employed and complaining that their employers are giving them meagre salaries.

I would suggest that you thank your employer for the seed he gives you. The seed will never be enough and it was never meant for consumption. This is what most people do; they eat the seed and kill the future! Remember: A seed carries a tree in it and the tree has fruits!

Shun dependency syndrome mentality. John F Kennedy once said: “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”

Most people will complain what the government is doing or not doing for them. They do this as young people and carry this to their poverty death bed of old age. How shameful that is! We are endowed with limitless potential that we need to explore and expose!

Stretch you mentality The mind is one of the powerful assets that makes a human being stand out in comparison to all other creation.

In fact science has proved that it’s infinite and has the ability to create anything. To break the poverty cycle, we need to right use of our minds. Have you noticed that people in a certain setting think alike and their results are close to the same?

For example, ghetto boys behave that same and they carry that into their adulthood. Why? There is a mindset that is embedded or imprinted into their subconscious mind which makes then to believe certain things to reality and that is manifest in their physical life.

Everything is created or crushed in the mind sphere. To change your life, change your thoughts.

Change your traditional mentality Traditions can be carried from one generation to the other. The Jewish community is known for riches because there are specific things they practice and teach to their children.

Traditions, it could be in a family or community, cause poverty to carry on. To break that, we need to learn what your traditions have been or doing. Change the belief systems.

Devise multiple streams of income Many cash streams are what most rich people use to have wealth. You can’t be rich on your job. The preacher Matthew Ashomolowo once said that the word job can also be used as an acronym for “just over broke”.

Think yourself outside your job environment and if you think you can’t survive without your job, you need to act and recraft your road map to your destiny.

Rewrite your mind dictionary There is vocabulary that should not cross your mouth let alone your mind. In your choice of words delete words such as “impossible, failure, poor, I can’t, not good for that etc”.

Great words print a sense of worth and wealth in your mind and that causes the cosmic of rivers help to flow to your aid.

Apply the law of repetition At times success is simple; repeat those that are already rich. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel.

Instil the right wealth mentality into children It’s important that you do not to perpetuate our poverty streak into the next generation. There is a need for a mind shift in the minds of our children and as parents and schools we have a role to play.

Parting point: It’s time for action! Apply the above principles and be assured of tremendous wealth creation.
