Addressing congregants at Brethren in Christ Church in Bulawayo on Sunday, media and publicity manager Dave Simba appealed to citizens to help with the clean-up campaign so that the city gets ready to host the visitors.

“We are going to start a campaign where we are going to clean up Bulawayo before the beginning of these games. We request everyone interested to join this campaign and keep Bulawayo clean,” said Simba.

The clean-up is likely to target the areas where the games will be played which include Barbourfields Stadium, White City Stadium, Bulawayo City Pool, Bulawayo City Hall, Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, Bulawayo Athletics Club, Luveve Stadium and the suburbs, where the venues are situated.

Meanwhile, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) will present Bulawayo’s finest artistes who will entertain crowds at the games.

NACZ provincial arts manager Charity Nyathi says there would be action-packed entertainment during the games.

Artistes who include Iyasa, Jeys Marabini, Sandra Ndebele, Black Umfolosi, among others, are expected to entertain the crowds.

“We just want as many artistes as possible to take part in this event as the aspect of edu-tainment will be vastly incorporated during the Youth Games,” said Nyathi.
