The visitors scored through Thembani Masuku in the 35th minute when he poked home a Fungai Chirinda corner after Shabanie Mine goalie Victor Twaliki had left his area unattended. Chirinda was later sent off for a rough challenge on Wellington Kamudyariwa.

Masuku completed his double a minute after the breather. Before that, Godfrey Nguwodzawo had given Masomere’s men a 2-0 half-time lead, again capitalising on Twaliki’s misjudgment. Twaliki scored from the penalty spot for Shabanie on the hour.

Masomere cried foul after the match: “Relegation is nothing to me, but I am disappointed in the match officials. They plotted with Shabanie to fix the match.”

Shabanie coach Jairos Tapera was disappointed with the result, but defended Twaliki.

“What we planned went into the drain and we conceded three stupid goals.”
