“We had a meeting with the executive and we were looking at strengthening the team, and some players will be released.

“Some of them whose contracts have expired would not be renewed,” Masomere said.

“The executive would officially announce the names of those players who are leaving. I am expecting eight players to join us this season and eight players would likely leave us.

“So far we have signed only three players Tawanda (Muparati), Benjamin (Marere) and Leftara (Ndale) I am also expecting other two players to join by tomorrow (today), but I can only tell you the names of those who have joined.”

Muparati has signed a two-year deal at Chikurupati and is seen as an ideal replacement fot Mernard Mupera, who is contemplating retirement.

Masomere is rumoured to have already convinced some of his former players at Shabanie Mine to join him, but they are yet to agree personal terms with the club.

The three are Smart Muchabaiwa, Victor Twaliki and Tafadzwa Mombeshora. Meanwhile, Mombeshora has pleaded with his former PSL outfit Buffaloes to pay him over $3 000 allowances owed to him.

The talented player who turned for the soldiers last season under the tutelage of Moses Chunga saw his contract expiring on December 31.

“l am making a plea to Buffaloes to pay me outstanding signing-own fees, l did not want to make it public, but I was supposed to get $3 500 for my one-year contract but l received only $300. So they owe me $3 200 and other winning bonuses,” he said.

“I know it’s tough at the club, but they should make an effort to pay me.

“Currently l am jobless since my contract ended on December 31 and l’m still looking for another team, l might return to Buffaloes if they give me a job, sometimes the issue of money can come later, but the most important thing is to first find a job.

“lf l could have two or three offers then l could consider the best deal to take.

“I don’t know where the issue of How Mine is coming from. We have not discussed anything with Masomere,” he added.

The club is surviving on the benevolence of its chairman Hlanganiso Matangaidze.
