A return flight between Zimbabwe’s second city to South Africa’s commercial capital will cost $178 compared to Air Zimbabwe’s $380.
FlyAfrica was already servicing the Harare-Johannesburg route and the Harare-Victoria Falls route before adding the Bulawayo-Johannesburg route.
Transport minister Obert Mpofu said the introduction of flyafrica in Bulawayo will go a long way in easing travel challenges of the city’s residents.
“This development will go a long way in easing the travel challenges of our citizens, be they tourists, traders or investors and thereby increasing trade between our countries while also stimulating tourism, given improved connectivity,” he said.
