Big Nuz Bulawayo gig in doubt

Big Nuz might have to cancel their performance in Bulawayo tomorrow because of the ongoing xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

JOHANESBURG – Big Nuz might have to cancel their performance in Bulawayo tomorrow because of the ongoing xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

Some Zimbabweans have threatened to boycott scheduled South African artists’ perfomances in that country.

According to Sowetan, the band members fear for their lives. Afrotainment’s DJ Tira, real name Mthokozi Khathi, told the paper: “It looks like we’re going to cancel,” adding that they are still talking to Zero One One Entertainment, the show’s organisers.

He also told the paper that one of group members, Mandla Maphumulo, aka Mampintsha, has a fear of flying and would have to drive to Zimbabwe.

He added: “This puts him more at risk.”

Although he’s also being threatened, rapper Cassper Nyovest has announced that his scheduled performance in Zimbabwe will go ahead.

He said: “My show in Zimbabwe is still on for the 25th of April. My Zimbabwean fans are gonna come to my show. We are one AFRICA therefore we will dance together. I will come perform for my brothers. Thank you.”
