The party said it learnt with sadness the death of the Miss Zimbabwe Trust patron.

Zapu noted that she would be remembered for her beauty and works to uplift the girl child in society.

Zapu further said Divaris’s trademark was equality and balance, as she led in the grooming and mentoring of beautiful girls into notable personalities.

Besides her modelling skills and nurturing girls, her leadership saw Miss Zimbabwe scaling new heights.

Zapu spokesperson Iphuthile Maphosa said as a party, they were paying tribute to the beautiful conqueror, mother to many girls as she shaped their dreams and careers, and a great gender activist.

“The gap she has left behind will be difficult to fill, but nevertheless we celebrate her well-lived life. We are saying may her soul rest in peace and may the family be consoled in knowing that the whole Zapu family and the nation shares the great loss,” he said.

Divaris was the chairperson of the Miss Zimbabwe Trust for over 30 years, before handing it over three years ago to Marry Chiwenga.

She was declared a liberation war heroine and will be buried tomorrow at Pioneer Cemetery in Mbare, where her husband Anthony Divaris, was also buried.

Mourners are gathered at number 68 Churchill Road in Alexandra Park, Harare.
