FIVE Pomona City apartment blocks will be ready for handover to buyers by the end of June this year, WestProp Holdings chief executive Ken Sharpe has said.
The blocks form part of the first phase of the Pomona Flats project, which comprises 22 apartment blocks of 16 units each, built on four floors. A similar number of blocks will be constructed during the second phase.
The Pomona Flats are part of WestProp Holdings’ broader Pomona City Estate, a large-scale mixed-use development that seeks to introduce a hybrid urban model combining residential, commercial and lifestyle infrastructure as Harare’s northern corridor continues to attract investment and population growth.
Construction of the apartments is already underway, with the flats designed to blend contemporary architecture with sustainable living. WestProp says the units feature modern finishes, spacious layouts and proximity to key amenities, factors that have generated strong buyer interest.
The developer has also introduced a zero-deposit facility for the apartments, a move aimed at improving affordability and accelerating uptake by both homeowners and investors.
Pomona City Estate, marketed as a “city within a city”, borders the Wingate 18-hole golf course and lies close to Harare’s fast-growing northern commercial hubs, commonly referred to as the Green Zone.
In addition to residential units, sales have opened for business stands earmarked for a shopping complex that will form part of the estate’s commercial component.
“This commercial hub will anchor the estate’s hybrid city concept, providing retail, dining and entertainment options within walking distance of the residential units,” Sharpe said.

WestProp Holdings is behind several property developments, including Millennium Heights and Pokugara, while its latest project, The Hills Luxury Golf Estate, is also under development.
Stakeholders are awaiting a major announcement later this year regarding the estate’s second phase, which is expected to further expand the scale of Pomona City Estate.
Speaking previously at the groundbreaking of the Pomona City Flats, Sharpe described the estate as “a city within a city… designed to provide all the amenities, services and facilities that residents and businesses might need”.
He has said the development forms part of a broader US$4 billion investment vision aimed at redefining Harare’s northern corridor and setting new standards for sustainable urban development.
