Bulawayo’s vibrant food scene and culinary excellence took centre stage recently as the Bulawayo Eats Awards transformed Kings Kraal into a hub of celebration, honouring the city's finest food and hospitality offerings.
The prestigious event, now in its most successful edition to date, attracted over 200 guests, surpassing all initial expectations.
“We expected 150 guests but ended up with 200.
We had to create more tables,” said Shane Manjelo, the Bulawayo Eats development manager, highlighting the event’s growing popularity.
Hosted by renowned comedian Mbongeni Ignatius and featuring live music from the Shadow Circuit Band, the evening recognised outstanding achievements in the city’s food and beverage industry, bringing the culinary community, hospitality leaders, and food lovers together.
Ten awards were presented, honouring top players across various categories. The winners were:
- Restaurant of the Year – Fairy Café
- Takeaway of the Year – Slice Pizzeria
- Culinary awards on the cards
- City’s culinary scene celebrated in style as Bulawayo Eats Awards lights up Kings Kraal
