GOVERNMENT has revealed that Bulawayo will host the National Culture Month launch in May 2026, with the entire nation expected to converge in the city for a month-long celebration of Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage and diversity.
Speaking during the Bulawayo Culture Month launch on Tuesday, Provincial Affairs and Devolution minister Judith Ncube said the national culture month celebrations for next year would be held in the City of Kings and Queens.
This comes after the 2025 official National Culture Month launch was hosted in Masvingo last month presided over by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“Ladies and gentlemen, let me take this opportunity to inform you all that Bulawayo will be hosting the Cultural Month launch in May 2026. Next year, the entire nation will be in Bulawayo,” Ncube said.
“This year’s theme is a call to action for all Zimbabweans to recognise, respect and celebrate the contributions of indigenous communities.”
She added: “It is a reminder that our cultural heritage is a precious resource that must be preserved and cherished. By amplifying indigenous voices, we not only honour our past, but also pave the way for a more inclusive and sustainable future.
“The theme also underscores the critical role culture plays in shaping our collective future. Our cultural diversity is not a source of division, but a wellspring of strength.
“It is through embracing our differences that we can forge a more inclusive and prosperous Zimbabwe.”
