High Court endorses dismissal of Msindo ally

High Court Judge Justice Jacob Manzunzu has dismissed an application by former Destiny of Afrika Network (Danet) Manicaland projects coordinator Wilson Masokowere, who was seeking to remain in his post after being fired for misconduct and insubordination.

High Court Judge Justice Jacob Manzunzu has dismissed an application by former Destiny of Afrika Network (Danet) Manicaland projects coordinator Wilson Masokowere, who was seeking to remain in his post after being fired for misconduct and insubordination.

Justice Manzunzu, sitting in chambers, struck the matter off the roll after Masokowere filed an urgent chamber application to block the execution of an earlier judgment that upheld his dismissal.

The judge ruled that the application was not urgent and ordered Masokowere to pay punitive costs.

The ruling clears the way for the Sheriff of the High Court to remove Masokowere from Danet’s offices with immediate effect and bars him from interfering with the organisation’s operations in any manner.

Masokowere has also been ordered to cover legal costs incurred by Obadiah Msindo, the founder and president of Destiny of Afrika Network, who initiated legal proceedings to regain control of the project.

Masokowere and Msindo were once allies, but their relationship reportedly deteriorated after Masokowere allegedly attempted to block an audit amid claims of fraud and misappropriation of funds.

Msindo accused Masokowere of refusing to facilitate the audit.
