Top court sets May 14 sitting to mark Malaba retirement

HARARE, May 5 (NewsDay Live) – The Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe will hold a special ceremonial sitting on May 14 to mark the retirement of Chief Justice Luke Malaba.

Chief Registrar Faith Mushure said the sitting will begin at 10:00am at the Mashonganyika Building in Harare.

The ceremony will formally close Malaba’s tenure at the helm of the judiciary and is expected to draw senior judges, legal practitioners and government officials.

Members of the legal profession attending are required to be robed, in line with court protocol.

Malaba’s exit sets the stage for the constitutional process to appoint a successor to lead the country’s highest court.
