TWO men have been remanded in custody after they appeared last week before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing a charge of robbery.
They allegedly robbed a police officer. The total value of the stolen property is US$200 and R300 and nothing was recovered.
The two are Vusumuzi Sibanda (18) and Opihas Manzini (22) both from Plumtree.
The complainant is Irene Ndaizivei Ngwenya, a police officer stationed at Mangwe.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the court that on September 10 at around 2am, the two broke into Ngwenya’s house.
Sibanda went inside, while Manzini remained outside.
While inside Sibanda, who was holding a machete, allegedly threatened Ngwenya and ordered her to remain silent.
The robber allegedly took Ngwenya’s black purse containing US$200 and R300.
