Husband seeks justice after marital dispute turns violent

A Bulawayo man has filed a police report against his estranged wife, accusing her of causing him permanent injuries to his genitals during a domestic dispute.

According to a report filed at Nkulumane police station, Lovemore Mpofu (47) alleged that marital problems with Tracy Chikohora began after he discovered she was having an extramarital affair just two months into their marriage.

The couple have been married since September 2024.

"In December 2024, I started having misunderstandings with the accused, who had extra-marital affairs," he said in a police report dated September 26, 2024.

Mpofu alleged that his wife would disappear for days to be with her suspected boyfriend.

The situation escalated in September this year when she moved out of their home and blocked his number.

"On 26 September, at about 0655 hours, I met the accused along Plumtree-Bulawayo Road, opposite Emganwini, and I instructed my driver to stop the vehicle so I could talk to her," Mpofu said.

"I asked the accused why she blocked my calls, and she answered with a question: 'What do you want from me?' I told her that she is my wife....

“The accused became angry and grabbed me by my private parts and started pulling them until I became weak and felt dizzy. She let me go and ran away.

"I am feeling pain on my private parts and I want the accused arrested."A medical report confirmed the injuries. A doctor who examined him wrote in an affidavit: "I observed the following injuries: tender, swollen scrotum, [and] bruises.

Mpofu is a farmer, while his estranged wife is a teacher at Ark of Hope Private School
