A man from Plumtree was dragged to court after he assaulted his girlfriend following a dispute surrounding a WhatsApp password.
The matter came to light at the Plumtree magistrates courts where Promise Nyoni appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware and was granted US$20 bail.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi alleged that on September 29, Nyoni forced his girlfriend to remove a password from her phone. A misunderstanding arose and Nyoni picked a pot which he used to assault the complainant.
After the attack, Nyoni managed to get the unlocked phone from her girlfriend.
She sustained a swollen cheek and injured thighs. The matter will be back in court on October 6.
