
A 38-YEAR-OLD Magwegwe man has been remanded in custody after appearing before the Bulawayo Regional Court facing a charge of rape.
The man is being accused of sexually assaulting his former wife (41) in the early hours of July 27 this year.
It is alleged that the man entered the former wife’s bedroom at 4am and forcibly dragged her to the sitting room where their children were sleeping.
He allegedly turned off the lights and ordered her to lie on the floor before raping her.
The matter was reported to Magwegwe Police Station, leading to his arrest.
A medical examination was conducted, and an affidavit confirming the assault was presented in court as evidence.
He remains in custody pending finalisation of the case.
