Mangwe meat thief jailed

Plumtree magistrate

A Mangwe man found himself in hot water after he allegedly broke into a teacher’s cottage and made off with dried meat and other valuables.

Devine Ncube was arraigned before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware, who remanded him in custody until October 27.

He faces charges of burglary.

Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi outlined the case to the court, stating that on October 10, at around 8am, Ncube broke into the premises of Mabunga Primary School.

He then targeted a cottage belonging to a teacher.

“Upon gaining entry, he stole dried meat, a power bank, and a cellphone,” Nyathi said.

The theft was reported to the police, leading to Ncube’s subsequent arrest.
