GWERU-BASED beer company, Go Beer Breweries, has launched a new one-litre beer package into the market as part of the firm’s expansion drive to meet the growing demand of consumers, according to a company official.
Speaking during a media tour at the recent launch of the new one litre beer product, named Shikisha, a Swahili name that means shake it, marketing manager Sam Ganjani said the new product strengthens the portfolio of other products already into the market.
“This product marks a key milestone in our growth strategy as we continue transforming our portfolio to meet the evolving consumer needs,” he said.
“Shikisha is a refreshing, smooth crafted for consumers who value great taste, quality and affordability.
“The brand name Shikisha speaks to energy, excitement and movement symbolising a refreshing break from the ordinary.
“The inspiration for coming up with Shikisha was inspired by our consumers who are looking for beer that is smooth, affordable and full of energy.”
Ganjani said the idea behind the new product was to create a brand that fits well into everyday social moments, gathering events and night life.
He said the target market was young adults who enjoy socialising and lifestyle experiences although the product would also “appeal to value driven beer drinkers who also appreciate a well-made and affordable product”.

“Shikisha strengthens our portfolio by adding an energetic brand that complements our existing brands like Chihera, Go5, among others,” he said.
“It also allows us a company to compete effectively in the mainstream and township value beer segment, expanding our reach and relevance.”
Ganjanisaid the new product will first be rolled out in the Midlands province and once production stabilises,it will be distributed in phases to other provinces.
He said continuous innovation was one of the company’s key pillars as it seeks to uplift and grow the local economy as well as create more jobs.
Go Beer chief executive Edward Rusike commended consumers of Go Beer products for supporting the company’s products since the re-opening of the beer entity in December last year after a decade of closure.
“We can only pay tribute to our loyal customers who have supported Go Beer since it resumed operations last December,” Rusike told Newsday Weekender.
He said the company welcomed suggestions from consumers as it gears to increase productivity next year.
