IN a bid to provide a supportive space for women to address their emotional and mental well-being, Sis Are You Ok Zw? founder Nokuthula Sibanda has launched an initiative that has resonated with many women.
The initiative, which was established on May 10 last year, aims to empower women to rediscover their strength, purpose and voice.
Sibanda said she has always felt like it is her duty to make it a point that women find a safe space for them to vent out their concerns and emotions.
“Many women do not have a safe space to express their pain, exhaustion, or emotional overwhelm, and I felt compelled to create a platform that normalises asking, ‘Sis, are you okay?’ and truly meaning it,” Sibanda said.
She said the initiative provides a safe and supportive environment where women can openly address their emotional challenges, personal growth and life transitions.
The initiative was born out of personal experiences and ongoing conversations with many women who appeared strong on the outside but were silently struggling, she said.
“I noticed that many women are carrying unspoken pain, trauma and pressure from relationships, motherhood, work and societal expectations,” Sibanda said.
“Despite this, they continue to show up for everyone else while neglecting their own healing and emotional well-being.”

Sibanda said the initiative has always received a good response from people.
“The initiative has received an overwhelmingly positive response, with many women expressing gratitude for a space where they feel seen, heard, validated, and empowered.”
She said the goal of Sis Are You Ok Zw?is to promote healing, empowerment, self-awareness and emotional well-being among women.
“Through intentional conversations and healing activities, the initiative aims to empower women to recognise their worth, reclaim their voices, release what no longer serves them, and confidently step into their purpose.”
