A man from Bulawayo was sentenced to 630 hours of community service after he was convicted from for striking another man with a metal bar on the head during a confrontation.
The convict Hloniphani Sibanda appeared before Bulawayo Regional Magistrate Archie Wochiwunga facing charges of contravening Section 89 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform).
Sibanda entered a guilty plea.
Wochiwunga said the accused’s decision to plead guilty demonstrated that he accepted responsibility for his actions and respected the court’s time.
According to the state outline, on November 1, 2025, Sibanda was involved in a dispute with the complainant, Morgan Moyo.
During the confrontation, Sibanda struck Moyo on the head with a metal bar, leaving him nursing serious injuries.
