A 24-YEAR-OLD Plumtree man is in hot soup after he allegedly defrauded US$410 from a woman who had engaged him to erect a perimeter fence at her homestead.
Patrick Chikonzi was dragged to Plumtree magistrate court where he appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware granted the suspect US$30 bail.
Prosecutor Sheile Nyathi alleged that sometime in January this year, Chikonzi went to Patience Gumbo’s house and gave her a quotation to fix and supply fencing material.
The suspect charged her US$410, which was given to him and subsequently failed to do as agreed.
Sometime in February Gumbo realised that she had been defrauded and filed a police report.
Only US$80 was recovered from the suspect.
