Mhlophe writes to Highlanders board amid rift

Club chairman Luke Mkandla

Highlanders executive committee chairman Kenneth Mhlophe has reportedly written to the club’s board, led by chairman Luke Mkandla, seeking intervention to resolve internal conflicts within his committee that have created a toxic working environment.

The move follows a fallout involving executive committee members Kindman Ndlovu and secretary-general Morgen “Gazza” Dube, who recently sued club treasurer Nkani Khoza for alleged defamation of character stemming from a financial presentation made at the Annual General Meeting in February.

Ndlovu and Dube are demanding a public apology from Khoza, claiming the presentation contained fabricated information intended to damage their reputation among the Bosso faithful.

Sources say the dispute has caused a serious rift among the trio, with communication breaking down and progress within the club reportedly stalled.

“Mhlophe recently wrote to the board seeking their intervention to restore a conducive working environment, as relations between Ndlovu, Dube, and Khoza have deteriorated,” a source revealed.

The situation comes at an unfortunate time for Highlanders, who are preparing to celebrate their centenary this year.

Instead of focusing on key initiatives such as fundraising, the club’s leadership appears to be embroiled in internal disputes.
