Superstition beliefs engulf Bosso?

The Bulawayo giants recorded their seventh consecutive draw of the season after a goalless stalemate against ZPC Kariba at Barbourfields Stadium  last Sunday.

BELIEF that Highlanders are “tied” and unable to win is gaining traction among sections of the club’s supporters following another frustrating result.

The Bulawayo giants recorded their seventh consecutive draw of the season after a goalless stalemate against ZPC Kariba at Barbourfields Stadium  last Sunday.

Under the guidance of Benjani Mwaruwari, Bosso have shown glimpses of attractive football, but victories have remained elusive.

This has left the fanbase divided.

While some question whether Mwaruwari is the right man to lead Bosso, others are encouraged by the team’s style of play and overall approach.

Among those backing the coach, a section has turned to superstition to explain the lack of victories, claiming the team has been “tied” to prevent progress and possibly influence changes within the club’s leadership and technical team.

The phrase “iteam ibotshiwe” has now become a common feature across Highlanders’ social media circles.

However, is it superstition to blame or Mwaruwari and his players are struggling to convert performances into wins?

Meanwhile, MWOS coach Lloyd Mutasa believes Highlanders can “turn the tables anytime” and begin grinding out positive results, citing their style of play as a strong foundation.

Mutasa made the remarks following his side’s 1-0 win over Simba Bhora at Ngoni Stadium in Norton last Saturday.

“If you look at Highlanders, they are playing very well, so they can turn the tables anytime,” he said.
