Insiza shadow councillor lights up neighbouring ward

Nkomo combined civic education with empowerment initiatives targeting villagers, women and war veterans.

ZANU PF Insiza North Ward 23 shadow councillor Sikhanyisiwe Nkomo, has donated 25 solar lights, US$1 740 in cash and pig farming projects to her neighbouring ward 18.

Nkomo made the pledge during a community meeting on May 6, 2026, where Ward 18 Councillor Jostinah Ndondo had invited her to explain the Constitutional Amendment Number 3 (CAB3) clauses to residents.

Nkomo combined civic education with empowerment initiatives targeting villagers, women and war veterans.

She handed over US$500 towards ward development activities, with US$300 for a community-chosen project and US$200 for floor tiling at the community hall.

War veterans received US$300 for income-generating projects and four solar lights.

Twenty-six village heads also received lights.

Nkomo injected US$200 into the Sikhanyisiwe Women’s Goat Project Club, which she founded last year and now owns five goats.

She also launched a piggery scheme with four piglets, including a “pass-on” arrangement where resident Phineas Majozi received two piglets and will extend the some to three others once they multiply.

Community members hailed Nkomo for her consistent support.

Patriotic Vendors4ED spokesperson Dumiso Makhalima said she is expanding chicken and piggery projects into neighbouring wards.

Addressing the gathering, Nkomo urged support for CAB3. “CAB3 is real, and the community must take ownership of building the nation. No foreigner will come to build our nation. Let us focus on Vision 2030,” she said.
