A 30-year-old Mberengwa man reportedly set his in-laws four huts ablaze in a domestic dispute over his wife's alleged infidelity.
Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.
"Zimbabwe Republic Police in Midlands province is investigating a case of malicious damage to property where four huts were set ablaze on August 30 at Mutavisi Village under Chief Chingoma in Mberengwa," Mashoko said.
Mahoko said the suspect, Absolom Zhou of Ngwenyama village under Chief Mketi in Mberengwa, who is at large had a domestic dispute with his wife, Desollete Dube (28)over infidelity issues.
Zhou allegedly packed his wife's clothes and went to his in-laws homestead where he met one Esther Shoko (45) and allegedly indicated that he would return later to destroy property.
"Zhou is suspected to have returned later when no one was present and set four huts on fire,"said Mahoko.
Shoko reportedly noticed smoke from a distance and rushed to the scene with other relatives.
They found the four huts already burning and attempted to extinguish the fire but were unsuccessful.

"Household property was destroyed in the inferno," said Mashoko.
Mahoko appealed to members of the public who might have information on Zhou's whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
