Gokwe South Rural District Council is using the 19th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbahwe World Tourism Expo in Masvingo to showcase the district’s investment potential and attract businesses, development partners and investors to its growing local economy.
The Midlands-based rural district is inviting potential investors and partners to explore opportunities spanning agriculture, tourism, mining, infrastructure, community development and local enterprise.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa officially opened the expo yesterday.
Under the theme of Let’s Talk Business, the council is positioning Gokwe South as a destination for investment, highlighting the district’s natural resources, agricultural potential and opportunities for sustainable economic development.
The expo provides the local authority with an opportunity to engage directly with investors and other stakeholders while presenting projects and partnerships that could contribute to job creation, improved infrastructure and enhanced livelihoods for communities.
Agriculture remains one of the key pillars of the district’s economy, with opportunities existing along the agricultural value chain, including production, processing, storage, transportation and marketing.
The district is also promoting its tourism potential, seeking partnerships that can unlock attractions and develop tourism infrastructure while creating opportunities for local communities and enterprises.
Mining and infrastructure development are other areas being placed before potential investors as Gokwe South seeks to diversify its economic base and increase local participation in development.

For the council, attracting investment is not only about securing capital but also building partnerships capable of delivering long-term benefits to residents.
Through the Sanganai/Hlanganani platform, Gokwe South is, therefore, seeking to move beyond simply showcasing its potential to establishing meaningful business relationships and investment partnerships.
The council is encouraging investors, businesses and development partners attending the expo to engage with its delegation and explore opportunities available in the district.
“Gokwe South is a place of great opportunity. Let’s talk business,” the council said in its invitation to prospective investors.
The 2026 Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo offers the district a national and international platform to tell its investment story and position itself as an emerging destination for tourism, business and development partnerships.
