Award-winning Bulawayo artist Msiz’kay, born Sizalobuhle Nkomo, is back with a new single titled, Ang’phindi Futhi, marking his first foray into the 3Step genre.
Released on September 4, the track sees the musician teaming up with fellow creatives Kadesky and Luandra in a collaboration that showcases his evolving versatility.
The project was born from a encounter earlier this year, when Msiz’kay met producer Kadesky in the Bulawayo central business district.
After exchanging contacts, Kadesky sent over the instrumental for Ang’phindi Futhi, which immediately resonated with the artist.
“I was impressed by his sound, so I quickly wrote and recorded the track,” Msiz’kay said.
“We later brought Luandra on board to add spice to the song.”
He described the creative process as seamless, praising both collaborators for their talent and drive.
The decision to include Luandra came after Msiz’kay revisited the track and felt a female vocal presence was essential to complete its sonic identity.

“After the initial writing and recording session, I sat with the song for a while and realised that we needed to add a female vocalist,” he explained.
“Luandra recorded her vocals, and that’s when I knew the song was ready.”
Beyond its infectious danceable rhythm, Ang’phindi Futhi carries a deeper message about exercising caution in love particularly in what Msiz’kay describes as the unpredictable world of umjolo.
He hopes the track will resonate with those who have experienced heartbreak, offering both healing and a reason to move.
“The deeper meaning embedded in the song is that of being cautious and not blindly falling in love in this world of umjolo,” he said.
“I want the world to dance to this song and find healing from past heartbreaks.”
Confident in the track’s appeal, the artist is also keen to use the release as a platform to spotlight emerging talent from Bulawayo.
“I am excited to uplift and shine a light on upcoming talent from Bulawayo in this song,” he said.
When asked if he would change anything about the project, Msiz’kay stood firmly behind the final product, maintaining that the collaboration and creative process delivered exactly the sound he envisioned.
With Ang’phindi Futhi, Msiz’kay not only ventures into unfamiliar musical terrain but also reinforces that reinvention remains a vital part of his artistic journey.
The 3Step offering allows him to experiment with a fresh sound while retaining the emotional depth and storytelling that have become hallmarks of his music.
