RIVER Valley Properties chief executive officer Smelly Dube has described it as a profound honour to host Zion Christian Church (ZCC) leader Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi at her home in Gweru as the clergyman celebrated his birthday.
Dube, who hosted Bishop Mutendi together with his family last week, said the occasion was an opportunity to celebrate the church leader while extending the spirit of giving to vulnerable communities.
“It was an absolute honour to welcome the Man of God into our space to celebrate his birthday and share some gifts with him, so that he also gifts others as he celebrates his special day,” Dube said.
As part of the celebrations, Dube donated food hampers worth thousands of dollars to Bishop Mutendi, with the hampers subsequently distributed to underprivileged families across Midlands province.
The gesture turned the birthday celebration into a community outreach programme, with disadvantaged families benefiting from food assistance during a period when many households continue to face economic challenges.
Dube said she was humbled by the opportunity to share the special occasion with Bishop Mutendi and her family.
“There are moments in life that leave you truly humbled, and this morning was certainly one of them. My family and I had the immense privilege of hosting our dear muzukuru, an esteemed religious leader, Dr Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi, at our humble home,” she said.
Dube also congratulated Bishop Mutendi on his birthday and thanked him for honouring the family with his presence.
