Respected businessman and politician Kudakwashe Tagwirei has commended Chivi Central legislator and businessman Exevia Moses Maoneke for his business acumen and professional conduct.
Tagwirei made the remarks while speaking at the Architecture of Generational Wealth Business Seminar, hosted by the Seventh-day Adventist Church at the ZimParks headquarters in Harare on Wednesday.
He spoke positively about Maoneke’s experience in the private sector and his transition from business into public service, highlighting the importance of entrepreneurs using their experience to contribute to national development.
Maoneke, who represents Chivi Central in Parliament, built his business profile through interests that have included car dealerships, real estate and commodity broking before venturing into politics.
His business background has subsequently informed his approach to constituency development, with initiatives associated with his office focusing on areas such as infrastructure, agriculture, health and community empowerment.
Recent projects in Chivi Central have included road development, support for health facilities and agricultural initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods.
Speaking about his journey into public service, Maoneke has linked his political ambitions to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s development philosophy, particularly the principle: “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo, ilizwe lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo” — a country is built by its own people.
Maoneke said his transition from business into politics was driven by a desire to apply his experience and resources to broader community development.

“Business taught me the importance of discipline, planning, innovation and creating opportunities for others. When you enter public service, those values remain important because people expect you to deliver tangible results,” Maoneke said.
He said his focus in Chivi Central was on supporting initiatives that could create sustainable opportunities rather than relying solely on short-term interventions.
“I believe development must empower communities to become productive and self-sustaining. Whether it is agriculture, infrastructure, health or youth empowerment, our responsibility is to create an environment where people can build their own future,” he said.
Maoneke also encouraged Zimbabweans in the business sector to look beyond immediate profits and consider how their investments could contribute to generational wealth creation.
The seminar provided a platform for discussions around entrepreneurship, investment, wealth creation and the role of business in community and national development.
