Dairy value addition champion hailed

Agribusiness executive Buhlebenkosi Ncube Nyathi has been honoured as the Dairy Value Addition Champion at the Zimbabwe Association of Dairy Farmers (ZADF) Excellence Awards.

The award, held under the theme “Moooving Dairy Towards Better Standards,” recognises Nyathi’s contribution to transforming raw milk into high-value products while supporting rural industrialisation and food security.

Nyathi, who is the managing director of Competitive Brandshapers (CBS), said the award was a recognition of the collective efforts of players across Zimbabwe’s dairy value chain.

“I am deeply humbled and honoured to receive the Excellence Award as the Dairy Value Addition Champion. This recognition is not just a personal victory, but a celebration of collective resilience, innovation and passion within our dairy ecosystem,” she said.

She credited ZADF leadership for promoting value addition and empowering farmers to move beyond primary production.

Nyathi expressed gratitude to ZADF chief executive officer Paidamoyo Patience Chadoka and national chairman Edward Warambwa for their leadership in advancing the dairy sector.

She said value addition remained critical to increasing returns for farmers, strengthening local supply chains and meeting domestic demand.

“At Competitive BrandShapers, our mission has always been anchored on precision, quality and building sustainable supply chains. Value addition is the ultimate bridge to unlocking incremental value for our farmers, improving livelihoods and meeting national demand with premium, locally manufactured dairy products,” Nyathi said.

She said the recognition would further motivate CBS to work with farmers, ZADF and other stakeholders to improve standards across the dairy value chain.

“This award strengthens my commitment to working alongside ZADF, our dedicated smallholder partners and corporate stakeholders to elevate Zimbabwean dairy standards to regional and international benchmarks,” she said.
