A man accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife in Gweru has been found dead at a guest lodge in Chiredzi, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Godknows Muleya (30) was found dead on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with a gunshot wound to the forehead, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed.
Muleya was allegedly responsible for the death of his ex-wife, Lisedi Nkomo (25), who died at a boarding house in Senga, Gweru, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, after allegedly being shot by him.
In a statement, the ZRP said a pistol loaded with a magazine containing three rounds, as well as a spent cartridge, was recovered at the scene where Muleya’s body was discovered.
“Investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding his death,” the police said.
The discovery comes two days after Nkomo’s death, in a case that has drawn attention to the fatal shooting and the subsequent death of the man accused of carrying it out.
Police have not yet disclosed further details regarding the circumstances of Muleya’s death.
