Zimbabwe’s national men's cricket team is scheduled to play a three-match T20 International series against Namibia at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on September 15, 16, and 18.
The matches are crucial preparation for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final, which Zimbabwe will host in Harare from September 26 to October 4.
The regional final will feature eight teams competing for the two qualification spots at the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
Captain Sikandar Raza will lead the Chevrons with the same 15-player squad that recently played a T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Despite losing that series 2-1, head coach Justin Sammons stressed the importance of building on the positive aspects observed.
Sammons stated that playing Namibia will provide the necessary challenge before the qualifier, calling them a quality side with a strong record in T20s.
The series offers Zimbabwe a chance to refine their strategies and team composition in a competitive setting.
While they showed promising moments against Sri Lanka, including a strong bowling performance in the second T20I, consistency is vital.
