NABA, Support men in Zone 6 quarters

NABA opened their account with a 0-3 win over Falcons of Zambia, toppled Malawi's Blue Eagles by a similar score line before dismissing hosts Lesotho Defence Forces VI 1-3.

ZIMBABWE men's volleyball teams, NABA and Support Unit, booked quarterfinal slots at the 2023 CAVB Zone VI Senior Indoor Club Championships currently underway in Maseru, Lesotho.

Both sides' blistering start to the games saw them qualify for the next phase with a game to spare.

NABA opened their account with a 0-3 win over Falcons of Zambia, toppled Malawi's Blue Eagles by a similar score line before dismissing hosts Lesotho Defence Forces VI 1-3.

Support Unit beat Botswana's Striking Star 3-2 before they clobbered Lesotho's Redskins 3-0 and Spiking Star and Mag Stimela both from Botswana 0-3 and 3-0 respectively.

NABA head coach, Munyaradzi Mavima, said their mission is to qualify for the continental games.

“It's been a dream start by the boys and the key thing is to guard against complacency, but so far it's been an incredible journey,” Mavima told NewsDay Sport.

“We have come a long way, we want to raise the flag high by making it to the Africa Championships. The guys are hungry and raring to go.”

Zimbabwe champions, UZ Wolves men and Black Rhinos, are also in with a good chance of progressing to the quarterfinals.
