CENTRAL Region Championship contenders Hardrock FC and Sheasham FC kept their momentum after beating West Nicholson and FC Platinum Under 19 in week 3 fixtures, respectively.
As largely predicted, Kwekwe-based side Hardrock, who recently roped in Luke Masomere, are living up to their billing, having won all three matches without conceding.
On Saturday, they beat West Nicholson 2-0 to make it nine points in three games. The Kwekwe-based side has been effective in all departments and are easily the favourite to win the 2025 title.
Sheasham, on the other hand, are marching on, with a 100% record in the matches played so far. The Prince Matore-coached side won 2-1 against a battling FC Platinum U19 on Sunday. They remain at the summit of the log, albeit on goal difference. Hardrock are second.
Sheasham coach Matore said he is not focusing on the log standings at this point in the league.
"It's all good progress for us. We are not looking at the log table right now because it's still early. We still have a long way to go," Matore said.
"As the coach, I am happy. We are taking each game as it comes. The good news is that these guys are scoring every game."
In other fixtures, ZRP Gwanda beat Gwanda Pirates 2-0 in a match that was played at Phelandaba Stadium. Dinson Mvuma settled for a share of the spoils with Blanket Mine after a 1-1 draw at Mvuma Primary School.
