NORTHERN Region Soccer League (NRSL) side PAM FC have bounced back from a chastening 4-0 defeat to N'ombeyaora on the first day of the season, to win their next two matches and climb to sixth on the log standings.
PAM FC won 2-0 against MWOS Under-19 at Gwanzura over the weekend, to move into contention for the title.
Amon Kambonje and Ngaakudzwe Chirikure scored in each half to complete their second set of three points.
The previous week, they beat Karoi United in Mutorashanga.
PAM FC have six points from two matches, just a point behind joint log leaders N'ombeyaora and Golden Eagles on seven points.
N'ombeyaora dropped points for the first time after playing a one-all draw with Black Rhinos at The Heart Stadium over the weekend.
PAM head coach Vincent Nzombe was pleased with the hard work and discipline of his players to turn the season around after a disastrous start.
"We are preparing ourselves to gain momentum. We should keep working hard. I always push the players to work hard, remain disciplined and always encourage them that everything is possible. I am happy that we are beginning to see the results," he said.

"We converted our chances, but we could have won this game with a better margin. But our conversion rate was very poor. We are going to work on finishing such that we utilise all the chances we get," Nzombe said of the MWOS Under-19 match.
There are three other teams on six points, namely Zambezi GC in third place, Agama FC in fourth and Chinhoyi Rangers in fifth place, as the race for the sole ticket into the top-flight league is heating up.
Ambitious Chinhoyi-based side Oden FC are in seventh place on five points after playing a goalless draw with local rivals Chinhoyi Stars.
It has been a difficult start to the season for former premier league side Harare City, who anchor the standings with one point, the same as Chegutu Pirates, Chinhoyi Stars and Trojan Stars.
