THE stage is set for this year's Castle Tankard race with 16 horses confirmed to battle it out for the US$50 000, which is up for grabs on May 10.
Kundai Mawema, Castle Lager marketing manager, stood confidently at the podium, surveying the crowd gathered for the 2025 Castle Tankard final acceptance event at the iconic horse racing venue, Borrowdale Race Course, in Harare yesterday.
"A very good afternoon to you all," she began, her voice warm and engaging.
"It is an honour to once again be part of this wonderful event, as we prepare to host the 65th edition of the prestigious Castle Tankard."
She was proud to be associated with the iconic horse racing event.
"The Castle Tankard stands as Africa's oldest sponsored horse race and we are proud of our long-standing partnership with the Mashonaland Turf Club, in one of the greatest celebrations of sporting excellence in Zimbabwe," she said.
This year's event holds special significance for Castle Lager, as the brand celebrates 130 years of brewing excellence.
"We celebrate 130 years of great moments of refreshing generations and of building bonds across communities both locally and within the region," Mawema said.

The theme for this year's Castle Tankard, The Legacy Continues, is a fitting tribute to the brand's enduring partnership with the event.
