CHICKEN Inn will be out to redeem themselves after a slow start to the season as they host TelOne in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Luveve Stadium today.
The Joey Antipas-coached side has one win in eight games when they beat an equally struggling Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium two weeks ago. They have played five draws and lost twice to ZPC Kariba away and Simba Bhora at home.
The GameCocks went to Mutare at the weekend and returned home with a point after a draw with Manica Diamonds. Antipas says he will be giving a chance to young players, who featured in that game.
“We have more or less a full squad to choose from. We still have to make our decisions. It seems like a few players are back and ready. I have to be faithful to some of the boys, who played on Saturday in Mutare. I believe in football, you have to give these youngsters a chance to help them come alive. It is an opportunity for some of the younger players,” Antipas said.
The veteran gaffer has maximum respect for TelOne.
“We are playing against TelOne, who are doing very well. I believe if we can get our act together and play well, we can win. We have to fight and give 100%, play an ‘A’ Game, and make sure we come up with our first win at home,” he said.
After tomorrow’s game, Chicken Inn will host log leaders MWOS.
Across town at Barbourfields, Highlanders entertain Bikita Minerals today after playing a goalless draw against TelOne and Bata on Saturday.
