NGEZI PLATINUM . . . . . . . . . . . . (0) 1
YADAH FC . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .(1) 2
GOALS in each half from Francis Mustafa and captain Vincent Sango saw struggling Yadah FC pull off a win over hosts Ngezi Platinum Stars at Baobab Stadium yesterday.
The win saw Yadah FC mover out of the relegation zone from 17th place to 14th with eight points from nine matches.
Ngezi Platinum Stars missed an opportunity to go top of the standings with their first home loss since October last year.
Coach Takesure Chiragwi felt the team was unfortunate not to win the match after missing lots of chances.
“This one is tough to take because we did everything possible to win the match,” he said.
“We created a lot of chances and I feel sorry for these boys who put up a good performance throughout the 90 minutes.

“To lose a match after controlling the game is tough, but today it was just not our day.”
Yadah took the lead early in the game through Mustafa from the penalty spot after the hosts’ Kudzai Chigwida hacked down Vincent Sango after 17 minutes.
A few minutes later, Yadah goalkeeper Tymon Mvula produced a brilliant low save to deny McDonald Eddisone’s goal-bound shot from inside the box after he was fed by Obriel Chirinda.
The hosts piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser, but Mvula denied Chirinda and Tanaka Munemo in quick succession with about half an hour played.
The hosts continued missing chances in the second half, with substitute Takunda Benhura heading over soon after the restart.
The goal would eventually come for the hosts when McDonald Makuwe bundled a Nyasha Gurende cross from a set piece in the 65th minute.
Against the run of play, Yadah FC took the lead when Sango ran on to a through ball and beat an outdrawn Darlington Murasiranwa with barely 15 minutes left on the clock.
Yadah got a chance to extend the lead on the stroke of full-time after they were awarded another penalty, but Innocent Mucheneka crashed his effort against the upright.
“The win is sweeter considering that it came against former champions,” Yadah Coach Ikarbort Masocha said after the match.
“It is quite encouraging for the boys and the club.
“We were quite desperate for this win and I think it will give is momentum going forward.”
