CHARLES Munyanyi, Tatenda Munditi and Moses Demera were on target as ZPC Kariba put up a convincing performance to beat struggling Kwekwe United 3 - 0 in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League game played at Bata Stadium yesterday.

Munyanyi and goalkeeper Munditi scored in the first half while Demera grabbed his goal in the second half as ZPC completed a double over the sorry Kwekwe United.

This means they scored eight goals past the Masimba Dinyero coached side having won 5-0 in the first instalment. And coach Newton Chitewe was pleased with the outcome:

"I am happy with my players' attitude, today they wanted it more,” Chitewe said.

“That is shown by the three goals we scored. This win is important for us because we had been drawing in many games. So we remain on course for our top eight target."

Dinyero was dejected. He said: " I am not happy with my players' attitude. They were not in it. They made it easy for ZPC Kariba.

"It was almost like a training match for ZPC Kariba. They got soft goals. I tried talking to the boys at half-time, but they never showed signs of improvement."

ZPC Kariba started the match in high spirits and they had a goal denied after 12 minutes when Remington Masuku was adjudged to have handled the ball in his effort to have it cross the line.

The electricity men took the lead in the 19th minute. Charles Munyanyi opened the scoring after a brilliant run before slotting the ball beyond diving goalie Elton Nechiware.

Goalkeeper Munditi doubled their scores on the stroke of half-time with a powerful free-kick from outside the box, thrusting them in full control of the team going into the break.

Demera scored ZPC Kariba's third goal at the 56 minute mark after capitalising on poor communication between Kwekwe United defenders. Kwekwe United had their chances throughout the game, but as has been the norm, their forwards Timothy January, Cedric Maruta were disappointing.
