The competition, the first of its kind at the club, will see Bulawayo-based DJs rocking and showcasing their talents on the turntables.

The club’s general manager Desmond Mutsago said the event was all about exposing upcoming DJs to promoters and club owners.

All the DJs will be given a 15-minute slot each till the second and last rounds that will decide the winner for the night — who will be given a chance to play on Star FM at a date to be advised.

Event organisers have invited officials from Ingwe Studios and Radio Dialogue to be part of the judges.

The winner will walk home with prize money, which is being kept a secret untill the crowning moment and all the others will get something for participating.

Among the DJs to perform are DJ Mzoe, DJ Fire, LazyT and female DJs Linda Siziba — better known as DJ Ndoe and Miss P.

“We have introduced three female DJs for the night as an initiative to erase the mentality that it is a men’s field,” Mutsago said.

Popular DJ Sibanengi Ndebele, popularly known as DJ Mzoe, said he was excited about the event and especially getting female DJs to perform.
