Joshua Nkomo comes alive at Amakhosi

The event which runs under the theme “Umdala Wethu”, will start at 10am and end at 6pm.

Officials said yesterday the event will start with a poetry workshop in which several renowned and upcoming poets will be expected to attend.

The artists would then perform in a poetry session dubbed “Poetic Dreams”.

Event organiser Mlamuli Moyo told Southern Eye that a lot of performers will grace the stage to celebrate the life of the late Father Zimbabwe.

Poets such as Roxy and Mazila Nkata will be part of the group that will perform on the day.

Also lined up to perform is Joseph Ndlovu, Ingwenyama Arts and Constantine Maraire, among others. “I urge people to attend the event as it will be educative

to all on the life of Umdala Wethu and also on Zimbabwe,” Moyo said.

This week saw a lot of activities commemorating Nkomo.

On Monday traffic came to a standstill along Main Street, Bulawayo, as his family and friends joined hands to remember him.
