The event will feature performances from artistes and groups such as The Friction Band, MD, KwanFire and Tawanda Denda, among other gospel artistes from Bulawayo, Matabeleland and the Midlands.

Abraham Mabhena, one of the organisers of the Friction Youth Concert, confirmed the event to Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday.

“We have organised a lot of members from at least eight churches in the city and all will minister in different ways, music, dance and many more surprise packages,” Mabhena said. “We put up a suitable environment for young people to have fun, mix, mingle and be ministered the gospel of Christ.”

Mabhena said the show was non-racial, non-ethnic and non-sexist as it was meant for everyone. The concert will run from 6pm up to 8:30pm and has support from the corporate world.

“We promise an electric night never to forget and never seen before that will feature unpredictable acts. The concert will change the lives of many youths spiritually and socially. I urge youths to come in their numbers on the night,” Mabhena added.

The organisers of the concert have previously organised events such as Christian Soccer Leagues and career guidance programmes in churches and schools.
