It was reported earlier this week that the 27-year-old was in Johannesburg and at the time the player’s agent Ralph Nkomo explained that he was in the country to sort out personal business.

Nkomo said that he was still working on securing an overseas deal for the former Plymouth Argyle defender. However, Wits’ head coach Gavin Hunt has now revealed that Bhasera is training with the Clever Boys squad and that they are assessing him.

“Yes, he is here with us and we are looking at him. If all goes well we maybe we’ll bring him in as we need a player on the left. But it will also depend on how many foreigners we have in the team. But yes, we are looking at him,” Hunt stated.

Bhasera last played in South Africa for Kaizer Chiefs, between 2007 and 2009, prior to his move to England. If he succeeds, Bhasera will join compatriots Benjani Mwaruwari, Denver Mukamba, Thomas Sweswe and Tinashe Nengomasha at the same club.
