The MSU modelling pageant will be held at Midlands Hotel. Shinsoman, real name Romeo Antonio, confirmed he would be performing at the Miss MSU gig.

“I hope that the show is going to be a good one. It’s my first time to perform in the City of Progress as a solo artiste. I have performed there before with a group, but now I’m going there alone.

“I urge all dancehall fans to come in their numbers and witness the dancehall father doing what he knows best — fireworks is all I’m promising Gweru and MSU,” he added.

Shinsoman is expected to belt out some of his hit songs such as MaGhetto Yuts, Kukunakidza, Dancehall Fada and Mawaya waya. Since he broke into the limelight back in 2009 with his single track Number One in which he featured diva Cindy Munyavi, Shinsoman has never looked back.

Shinsoman started his musical career when he was in Form One in 2001. He has already released a single album titled Mudhara Kubva Kudhara. Andrew Mutunga of Jah Mark Entertainment, the organisers of the pageant, said everything was in place for the big night.

“Gweru residents should come out in their numbers and have fun. This also includes non-students as this is for Gweru,” Watunga said. The winner on the night will go on to represent the university at the national Miss Universities pageant.
