SUPERSTAR Oliver Mtukudzi is set to share the stage next Friday with Dendera king Suluman Chimbetu and Afro-jazz musician Jeys Marabini at the Bulawayo Amphitheatre.
Jorum Moyo, organiser of the show, confirmed the event to Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday.
“We are bringing in two of Zimbabwe’s crowd pullers, Tuku and Sulu. They will be joined by Jeys and the three will rock the City of Kings next week,” he said.
Moyo promised fireworks on the night and urged fans to come in their numbers for the show which will probably be the biggest show this year in the city.
Joe Nyamungoma, Sulu’s manager, echoed the same sentiments.
“We are happy that we are coming back to Bulawayo and this time it is going to be big with Tuku. Like always we promise fireworks,” Nyamungoma said.
“The Tuku-Sulu collaboration is well subscribed everywhere in the country, but not in Bulawayo. So we are bringing in the two of the best,” Moyo added.
Tuku is likely to play some of his tracks backed by Sulu’s Orchestra Dendera Kings outfit.
The Tuku and Sulu collaboration — both on stage and in the studio — is nothing short of magic as is evidenced by Sulu’s studio work Kwedu also known as Kata featuring Tuku, which is carried on his award-winning album Non-Stop.
