GABORONE — His company, Monate Fela Entertainment is famous for bringing music giants into the country and hosting successful events.
This time around DJ and promoter, Bannye Sesopo — best known as Easy B — is bringing legendary South African house artists, Oskido and Heavy K.
The two are scheduled to perform on Independence Day September 30 at the Game City Roof Terrace.
Sesopo told Showbiz that he was inspired to bring Oskido back to Botswana because it has been long since the artist performed in the country.
“As promoters, we always look at things that we can take advantage of. So since we will be celebrating our independence, we wanted the people to celebrate in style with two of the best house giants in South Africa,” he said.
Heavy K is currently with Kalawa Jazmee Records and is a respected producer in South Africa.
“He is the man behind the house song Wena which is currently a hit,” he added.
Oskido’s latest song Tsa Mandebele featuring Candy and Mabhiza is currently topping the charts in South Africa.
Sesopo said those who will attend the September 30 show by the two artists will get their money’s worth.
He said they have prepared well for the event and everything has been set.
The supporting local acts for the event are DJ Ricky Lamar, Easy B himself, DJ Kuchi, Lexx, Rox, Spinz Zo Harvey, T-izzy, Root and Chrispin The Drummer.
“Making a fusion of hip-pop and house artists is mainly to cater for people of different tastes and I know Oskido is loved by both the young and old. So this is a show not to be missed,” he said.
The entrance fee is P100 for ordinary tickets and P200 for VIP.
Sesopo said tickets were already available at Gaborone Liqouaramas only.
Oskido — real name Oscar Mdlongwa — is one of South Africa’s premier house club and radio DJs.
He is also a successful producer. He has many albums to his name and has produced hit songs for the likes of Mafikizolo.
