According to a notice flighted yesterday, the 55th exhibition has been moved to April 22 to 26 from the initial dates of May 6 to 10. However, ZITF management could not immediately disclose the reasons for shifting the dates for the exhibition.

When the Southern Eye Business contacted ZITF, its general manager Nomathemba Ndlovu and the public relations and marketing manager Stella Nkomo were said to be out of office.

But industry sources said the shifting of the dates had been done in consultation with all the relevant government authorities, particularly the Office of the President and Cabinet as well as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

“Be advised that the 55th of edition of the ZITF event now will be held from April 22 to 26 not from May 6 to 10 2014 as previously advertised,” read part of the ZITF notice to the media.

According to the notice, the first three days of the exhibition will be for business. An international business conference, organised in partnership with the National Economic Consultative Forum is slated for the April 23 while the official opening ceremony is set for April 25.

This year’s exhibition is running under the theme “New Ideas, New Heights”.
