Highlanders seniors won 9-0 against the Bosso juniors in a training match played at Luveve Stadium yesterday.

Habbas who came into the match in the second half scored one of the nine goals with Gabriel Nyoni (three), Munyaradzi Diya (penalty), Kuda Mahachi, Bruce Kangwa, Ariel Sibanda (penalty) and Ozias Zibande adding one each.

Habbas is from AS Academia Tchite in Burundi. Bosso used the match to identify junior players who might feature for the senior team this season and next year. Kaindu said the Burundi national was recommended to the club by a group of Highlanders supporters in Harare.

“Some people just recommended that we give him a chance. He is from Burundi. I think he was in Harare. We opened our doors to give him the opportunity to play. It is too early to judge him and we will still be with him in practice. He came yesterday (Saturday),” he said.

On the practice match, Kaindu said: “We are happy in terms of what we had planned. I think we have achieved our objective. Mainly we wanted our young players also to interact with the main team. We wanted to vet players that have been recommended to the senior team.”
